It Runs in the Blood

Monday, August 24th, 2009

I want to tell a tragic story about my cousin not to make the readers fell bad but to make them aware of their health. My cousin loves sweets. Name it, cakes, candy canes, soft drinks, desserts and just about anything that has sugar on it. No wonder he developed diabetes. He took  insulin to control his sugar level. But his sweet tooth can’t stop it’s indulgence. Sugar free cakes do not satisfy him the way real caramel does. And he just can’t stop, he just increase the insulin he takes. One day, he had a pedicure. The attendant doing his nails accidentally pricked a small part of his big toe. A small wound that can not be even seen with the naked eye. It was like needle mark. But his blood was too thick with sugar and the  wound that started as small as a needle mark resulted in the amputation of both of his legs and gradually caused his death. Diabetes is a no joke disease, treatment is usually   lifetime.   Learn how to combat it at an early stage.
